This guideline addresses the Taming the Beast quest chain from the point just in advance of Thotar will give you a taming Rod for the Dire Mottled Boar in Razor Hill. Thotar will give you a number of 3 taming rods, each is different and will allow you tame beasts in the next order: Dire Mottled Boar, Surf Crawler and eventually an Armored Scorpid.

Once you've completed the taming Component of the Quest chain, you must head to Orgrimmar and speak to Ormak Grimshot from the Valley of Honor to be able to unlock your pet managing abilities: Tame Beast; Feed Pet; Revive Pet; and other Beast Training.

Last but not least, remember to visit the Pet Trainer and grab the Pet skills that you must give to your pet.
